Ruby, Chana Yehudit

Today, five years ago we buried Judah, labor day weekend on a Monday. Audrey, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Today was Ruby's hebrew naming. Audrey held the phone to my ear as I heard her tell the world about Ruby's names. Chana after Willy's sister and Yehudit after Judah. She spoke lovingly about Judah's intellect and of his many friends. Ruby is the fifth baby to carry Judah's name.

What a wonderful way to honor his memory. I hope to share many Judah stories with all these children, and is some way keep a memory of him with us here on earth. I visited his grave today, told him about Aurdrey and Ruby, but I think he already knows. May his memory be a blessing.

May the new year bring you peace, good health and happiness.

I will remember a lot of things about Judah, but what I will remember most is how much grace he displayed under such incredibly difficult circumstances. I met with him a couple of weeks before he had the stem cell procedure. He was fully cognizant of the risks, and measuredly optimistic about his prognosis, recognizing that a favorable outcome was more or less a result of chance. He looked death in the face without losing either his composure, his identity, or his empathy. I thank Judah for showing me what grace is. Alex
