What We Know:

This is a frank update of what we know.
Judah is continuing to worsen. Specifically, his lungs are requiring greater and greater amounts of oxygen, and his blood is receiving less and less of it. Dr. Forman has provided us with a picture of different scenarios that may play out in the next day or so. We understand that there is still room for a reversal; that Judah may make spontaneous improvements. We are now informed, however, of what may occur if Judah does not make any progress.
In Judah's favor, dialysis is continuing in order to possibly allow Judah to oxygenate better. After several hours, however, his oxygenation is not improving. Since his steroids have been reduced over the past week, Dr. Forman is going to provide another megadose overnight so that we may see if any improvement occurs.
We are facing another crisis, with fewer and fewer options. We want everyone to remain optimistic, but realistic. Judah may be facing the worst. Our hands are tied and time is the only thing that can reveal what fate lies ahead for him and us all.

Dear Martha, Judah, Issi & Ben -

I don't know what to say about Judah's condition, other than he has been in worse places than this and come out all right.

Hopefully, the change in meds will do the trick - it may have been the change in meds which brought it on.

Does anyone have a handle on the cause of Judah's fever?

As always, our prayers go out to you.

Love, Uncle Robby

Hello again from Judi to you all.

I will remain optimistic and realistic, hoping that the adjustments made in the steroid dosing and the dialysis turn the tide once again.
As alway my love to you all.

Dear Judah and all the Whites,

You know, I always freaked out AFTER my milestone birthdays, not before or during. Maybe this is just Judah's way of saying, "Oh crud, I'm actually 39, where the heck did all that time go?!" If so, he'll surely snap out of it in a day or two.

Meanwhile, sending Judah love and mental images of oxygenation, and prayers and continued strength to you all,
Sharon, Andrew, Freddy, Liza, and Xena

Dear White Family-
We will continue to pray for Judah, for his complete recovery and for peace and comfort for all of you. He is so blessed to have family with him during this time. He can draw strength from you even when he feels his own strength failing him.

We hope for better news tomorrow.

Dear Whites,

Benji's birthday post the other day reminded me of my first memory of Judah. It's kind of a funny thing to remember and it's a little hazy because I must've been about 5 years old, but we had just moved to LA and we were still living with you. My parents and you & Seymour A"H/your parents all went out one night and left Judah in charge (or was Cruz--was that her name?--there, too?). I can't imagine that Judah had much to do with me that summer because I was the youngest out of all of us, but I remember that I was hungry that night and he made me some rice. Maybe he just took it out of the fridge, maybe he cooked it from scratch--I don't remember. But I do remember at that moment looking up to him with something akin to awe and thinking that he was the nicest person in the world because he had made me rice.

It's late at night here in NY and I'm just about to go to bed, hoping & praying for better news tomorrow.

Love, Abby

My dear friends,
There are thousands of people right beside you, praying, wishing, every step of the way that there's a miracle with Judah's name on it. May we all have reason to smile joyously over Judah's improvement -- and soon.

Love to all the Whites, especially Judah, and their extended family.

Judah - Thinking of you when I get up and throughout the day, sending out a mental misheberach, praying for your strength, and for every little improvement - they're yours to take so be greedy! Fight.

Dear White Family - We are steadily praying for Judah's comfort and for a change in his condition for the better. Surely the deep love of the family and friends that surround him is a source of great support to Judah. You are all so blessed to have each other.

Our hearts are with you -
Stacey & J.J. Meis

Dear White Family,

I guess the only thing to do is to stay positive that this is only a setback.

Judah, I had a long conversation with one of your nurses on Sunday (can't remember his name though, maybe roy?) He was fascintated about Israel and about your studying medicine there. Anyway, you have amazing people around you and you're in everyone's prayers.

Be strong.

Mike L.
