Fluid on the Lungs Markedly Diminished

WBC = 3400. Doctor says he can now walk outside with a mask. He hasn't gone yet due to nausea. He's lost a bit of weight, a good thing, and the fluid on the lungs has "markedly diminished."

Grandpa is here, interviewing Judah about the nausea. "What comes up? Bile?" "Yes bile, saliva, a thick phlegm. An unpleasant experience."

"Poor Judah," Grandpas says, "You got no sex, no booze. You can't eat. Should I send you some pornographic magazines?"

Grandpa continues talking about sex and morality and inhibitions. He wishes he had been less inhibited. Now he's talking about Dali, Renoir and Modigliani. Judah's drifting off to sleep.

Zoe Nemitz is smiling from the bulletin board. Nurses on duty are Julie and Pinky.

Hilda came by the house with spaghetti and meatballs.

Now grandpa is talking about airplane food and the service on Jet Blue. He wishes he had some gin.

Does someone know Dean? Please forward this link to him. He's called but I don't have his number.

Hi Judah
I just read the great news about the new WBC count and told Les who just walked in your new numbers- he says 'that's marvelous -wow!' and sends his love too. We are off tonight to New York to see Les's sister (from S Africa) visiting her son in NJ. Will catch up when we get back
Love to all, Stella

Hey Judah: tamar called and told me to log on to the LA Journal to read the cover article---you're famous! and its great that they are highlighting all of Martha's efforts to get people to donate. I noticed that people over 60 are out--too bad, there are a lot of healthy ones around--like your grandpa sounds as if he's make a great donor. so, instead, I guess he's donating laughs for everyone.

Yoni and Hadas are coming in tonight from Israel and the LA contingent will arrive tomorrow for a short weekend and celebration for the newlyweds on Sunday. We'll take photos so you can eventually see them--when I get around to uploading....In the meantime, jI ust wanted to say hi and that we're thinking of you and cheering you on from Palo Alto.

Is anyone reading to you? I have a recommendation---Amos Oz's memoir, A Tale of Love and Darkness (Sippur shel ahava v'chosech.) It is really great!

love,

nechama

Judah,

Glad to hear everything is moving along and that you'll get to go outside soon.

Thought I'd give you the quick Desparado update. We had a few firsts tonight. Andrea showed up for the first time in ages. Joe & Laura showed up with Baby Hana --- first time a 3 week old baby has attended a game. Mara got a double -- first pregnant woman to get an extra base hit. And we played 2 games tonight, that's right, our first double header. We won the first in extra innings 12 - 8, lost the second 11-10. Fig was in rare form, as you can imagine.

Anyway, feel better and I'll talk to you soon.

Mike

Hi Judah,

Glad to hear about the WBCs.This is good news. Keep it up. Don't forget...You have a wedding to attend.

Linda and I are still going to the Gym 5 days a week; 3 days with the trainer and 2 days on the bikes. We actually like the routine because it helps to keep us out of the malls at lunchtime!

We hope to see you soon.

Much love,
Bobbi and Linda

Hey Judah,

Thanks to Issi for putting the word out to add me to this Blog, and to Sharon and Andrew Kushnir for sending the link to me. I am very gratified to see that your WBC is climbing steadily. May it keep growing strong, and may the Ribono shel Olam send you a full and speedy recovery. I recently booked a flight back to Israel, and I'll be leaving on August 2nd. Please get better quickly so I can pay you a visit before I leave. All the best,

Dean.

Hi Judah,
What's that old sappy song with lyrics about "higher and higher?" Wonderful news for you, and for your friends and family who grasp onto every bit of good news about your progress. If only the icky process didn't have to get in the way of the progress.

Just read the JJ article on-line. You have always been our hero; now you can be the same to tens of thousands of people who haven't had the pleasure of meeting you.
Shabbat shalom and much love,
Andrea
