Quick Check In

Judah's lungs seem to be improving a bit. They've lowered his O2 concentration down to 65% and his oxygenation is holding steady at 92 (compared to O2 levels of 85-95% the past few days with oxygenation at only 86-88). This may be as a result of the steroids, or natural healing. His is still suffering a high fever, however, and low blood pressure. Doctors have not come around yet.
A very special thank you to Nancy Leonard- you were right, it beats by far what's available out here.

Judah and family,
You may not see us, your many friends who awaken each morning longing for any wisp of good news, any positive sign, when we sign on to this blog. But we're right there, holding your hands, touching your shoulders, whispering encouraging, hopeful words and prayers every moment of every day.
Much love,
Andrea

Dear Martha, Judah, Issy & Benji,

That's great that the morning brought some good news.

I'm so glad I got to spend some time with all of you last night. I hope you were able to get a good night's sleep. By the way,Issy, good call on the food.

I just read Nemetz's last comment. Yes, in the past, I was on the other side of that debate (and Nemetz was wrong at that time). But I'm 100% with Dave on this one. Using another hoops metaphor, Judah, take it strong.

Mike L.

p.s. -- My parents wanted you to know that they are thinking of you and that their prayers are with you.

It sounds like this is a Boker Yoter Tov! Keep it up Judah, and we'll keep up our end.

Judah, so far you've far outpaced yourself from the way we performed on the Track at Hamilton... Keep going!

Keep on keepin' on Judah. We awake every day to read of your recovery. Sometimes before bed too. Quiet prayers said at laptops and desktops around the world and sighs of joy as your O2 sat climbs and your fever goes bye bye. We're all here, and soon we can just pick up the phone and say hi without having to double click. We love you.

Hi Judah,

I'm a friend of Mara's. She's been keeping me up-to-date on how you are doing. I recently went through treatment for breast cancer and I think she has spoken about me to you as well.

I just want you to know that my prayers are with you, your family and your doctors and nurses. You will all be in my thoughts as I go through my work day today, sending love, encouragement, and stregnth.

Hugs,
Maureen

Dear Judah, Martha, Issy and Benji,

Now, that is the right direction for all your numbers to be going. Keep it up. I'm watching, even though I'm 3000 miles away.

We are all out here rooting you on. I just wish I was a little closer, but that is the way it is.

Love to all

Judah:

A mishaberach was recited for you this morning at the morning minyan at Valley Beth Shalom. May it bring you the strength to keep fighting and get better.

To all the Whites:

I have been reading your blog every day throughout the day, with hopes of hearing positive updates. How happy I was to hear of the small improvements Judah has made. Every improvement is a blessing, and a reason for us all to keep on praying for and believing in a full recovery for Judah.

Keep fighting Judah, I know you can do this!!!

Love,
Judy Feldman

Happy Birthday Judah!!!

I'm sorry I missed the big day, but glad to join in again today. Was off in some remote region in Georgia. But back to the internet now and caught up on the past few days. Looks like I shouldn't leave the computer again. As soon as I return, your oxygen levels improve. Glad to know you breathe better when I am around. :)

I have my flights for home: 16 Sept to DC, then in LA one week later. Mom is having a small operation and I'll be caring for her. So Iss, Martha and I can share lunch dates and I'll come by to bug Judah and Benj.

Another article of mine, this time with my accompanying photos, can be found at www.eurasianet.org in the Georgia section. I'll be writing a piece for the European Centre on Minority Issues, which is a new contract for me, so I'm excited. And they pay pretty well--always something I should consider, but never do. As soon as Judah is up and around, I'll take him to the most expensive restaurant I can find--and pay.

The good news is John and Maria are schedule for a baby on 12 Sept. So I'll be around to meet the new family member. Katherine left for College in Wisconin, reportedly after dumping her first boyfriend, so she's off to a good start in life.

Thinking of you always. Telling everyone about courageous Judah and the Whites. You are famous in this small country.

Much love,

Shiks

This morning I went to the Gabbai and asked for an Aliyah. One problem is that I was so focused on the Maccabee and sending positive energy waves to the West Coast through the skylight of Young Israel that I forgot prior to reading the Torah, I needed to recite the bracha in evreit. Well, I botched the bracha but I really felt it was a strong davening session. Mac, if you do your part and continue to improve, I'll continue to ask for aliyahs and work through the hebrew. Needless to say, you are in my(and all) of our prayers 24/7. Love you guys, Joe
