Really Now, Stop it Somemore

Thanks for all of those wonderful birthday greetings. As we all know, however, wishes (no matter how wonderful) don't fill coffers. So, checks may be made out to...
Iss and I are grateful to have so many well wishers. The only gift that matters this year is Judah's wellbeing. He is going to turn 39 on Monday, August 22. When he is well again, we will celebrate all of our birthdays (including Mom's) together. So, get those birthday cards ready for Judah, and make the checks payable to...

Martha,

Martha Carmel sent me an email about Judah. This must be beyond imagination for you and your children. I turn 61 on the 21st and will think of Judah and his turning 61.

Happy Birthday wishes to all you Leos. We are praying for you and your caretakers. Hope the good news continues on and on and on.
I will be seeing Cousin Sidney next week in DC, and will show him the BLOG. He is so old fashioned -he doesn't own a computer.
All our wishes for good health are with all of you - so hang in there-
we are all praying!!!

Lots of love,
Dottie & Howard

Happy birthday, Benj and Iss--the checks are in the mail...

Took the boys to see "March of the Penguins" today (least-inappropriate diversion I could think of for a 95-degree Tisha B'Av Sunday). Could not help thinking that our species, too, must overcome enormous hurdles to realize the Glory of Life--and does so every day, with the White family as Exhibit A.

All the Jaffes join me in wishing peace and health for Judah and his devoted guardians.

Dear White Family,

Happy belated birthdays to all (and an early birthday wish to Judah)! My quilting buddy Jana and I arrived yesterday evening at the Slavyen Hiking Club in Cabot, Vermont (so dubbed by Gilbert) for a week of peace and quiet and the contemplation of nature. No tv, no distractions, but I am thankful for the Internet hookup so I can keep in touch with what's going on with all of you.
This is the place where I feel closest to my parents, and I know that if they were here they would be joining me in sending love and healing thoughts to Judah. Mom would be checking on all of his medical reports, and Dad would be sitting on the pier by the pond puffing on his pipe and amusing the patient by telling childhood stories about Seymour.
Elliott and his kids will be visiting a friend in New Hampshire in the next couple of days, and we are going to rendezvous somewhere halfway. I will report to him what I've been reading here.
Fred and his family just moved to West Lafayette, Indiana, so they're only a few hours from me and Jeanne; we're hoping to see them soon. Jeff and his family were at Slavyen a couple of weeks ago and left some of the famous Cabot cheese for us in the fridge.
We are all thinking of you, and sending love. Cousin Diane
