Sunday AM

Judah finished dialysis around midnight. He had a bout of irregular heart rhythm that finally converted to normal rhythm after a while. (two hours). His temp is normal, and respiration stable. His o2 is at 65% with 93 % saturation rate. His peep is 8. Sunday is a break in aphoresis as the tech gets a day off. Everything else will continue. In a few hours the medical staff will round and give me any new details.

Yesterday, brought visits from Bill C. Topics ranged from mundane to lofty. Libby, Audry, Erica and Amihai flew, drove from NYC, San Fran area. Debby D and guys, ( cookies) Mara, Dave Stacey,(cake) Aviva and Leon (strawberries) Felice and Ron, and of course the many e mails, blogs, phone calls help stave off the feelings of sadness. Judah loves company as you all know, and he is told of every comment, call and visitor. We can't wait to have him smile at us, bat those baby blues, and give thumbs up, and "back at you, Ma".

A strong sun is shining through Judah's window signifying another very warm day, filled with sunshine. Let's pray it shines on Judah.

Dear Dr. White, honey, and a shavua tov to you, although I should have posted this last night, I was long asleep before your Shabbat was out.

A fairly unremarkable Shabbat is for those of us far away (and tethered by whatever is selected for report)a good report. I will wish you again a good week to come, with numbers positive or negative, whichever means progress. The nurses, specialty techs, and docs are going to be on their toes and acutely sensitive to changes and nuances to chart a course toward recovery. They are already dedicated, but when they see and review your cheering section that can only spur them on to even greater sensitivity. As I told the BIG CHIEF DOCTOR very early on, Judah is a keeper.

With that and our love and wishes for a week of impressive gains, I remain, Mrs. C., one of your chief fans.

Dear Whites,

It is nearly 2 years ago that I last saw Judah. We were sitting next to each other at the wedding reception of John and Maria Freese. A beautiful night, full of happiness and good conversation.

I am thinking of you often. Hoping for steady progress of Judah's health and that your incredible strength will see you through this trying time.
