I was hoping to get in another round of poker with you and the boys before I head off to Israel, so I can win my $10 back. This is a very ingenious ruse that you've come up with to avoid having to face me in poker - the tubes, the coughing, the shaved head, the pajamas - and all the while with such a straight face. You had me going for awhile, but no more. I'll give you a few more days, and then I'll come over and whip off that ridiculous bald-man wig, and take you home. (I knew you were cheap, but is it really worth all this to save a lousy ten dollars?)

I am a few days behind on the blog, and I wish to return to the Friday notation. Judah, Camp Ramah, and food brings to mind Judah, Camp Ramah, baseball, Stefan, a fractured or dislocated jaw, and the camp nurse making bid trips to Santa Barbara for malted milk. I still don't know why the camp couldn't provide for a liquid diet.
As you know I am on the UWS and I check the blog VERY often. Of course, Alissa told me about it.
The new hospital looks okay, for a hospital. But you may or may not know how I feel about hospitals who have 'guests' rather than patients. I do hope that you won't have to stay there long enough to get used to it. Much love and good wishes from the Doctor and Mrs. C.

Love the photos--the new hospital looks very nice. Although I suppose that at the end of the day hospital beds are hospital beds and stain-resistant chairs are stain-resistant chairs, it does look sunnier and brighter.
Having spent the entire day (it's 5:46 pm) in pajamas watching the last leg of the Tour de France (a tearjerker), some VH1 silliness on the crazy names celebrities give their children (fascinating. Just fascinating), and the first 5 innings of the Yankees-Angels game (1-0 Angels; no further comment since I'm not sure about your team preference), I am finally heading outdoors. It was a gorgeous day in NYC and it's really pathetic that I spent it on the couch.
Although I'm a lazy poster, I do check the blog daily and you're always in my thoughts & prayers.

I just wanted you to know that I check this blog daily. I actually never went on a blog before, I actually feel very hip that I even know how to find it. Just to explain my computer literacy, when people at work send me attachments, I actually just delete them. When there is actually something important in the attachment and my boss questions why I did not respond to him, I have a standard line "for some reason it would not open" . After several years of this, I believe he has caught on. But anyway, I have figured out how to follow this blog and I want you to know that your cousins Maggie, Joe, and Russ are following your progress and wishing you well.

Nice pics. what I'm trying ot figure out is where you hide the dirty magazines when you take pictures. I know this newspaper and crossword thing is just for the visitors. Keep in mind that kind of stuff is off limits in the ICU so that should keep you on the road to recovery and out of the unit. Anxiously awaiting the go ahead for visitors b/c it looks like the list is growing for a serious round of cards on the sixth floor. Just say the word and we'll be there with clay chips and two new decks of bicycle.

Dude! As I explained to your mom, I was out of it for a few days and went into shock when I read all the updates about your progress. I know how determined you are, and you're getting there, albeit more slowly than you would like. But, as I've always been there to point out, progress is progress, even if it's not fast enough!
I've missed you like crazy. God willing, I'll be out there for your birthday. Until then, I'm holding down the fort, amongst other things, while my boss is in Israel. It's all me for now. Think I should institute any radical changes while the cats away?

Just got back from Santa Fe. Pretty cool trip. Went to a Navajo ceremony Friday night for one of my cousin's friends who is pregnant. It's a ceremony to bring positive energy to the new born. Not exactly something you get to experience in LA.
We just hung out the rest of the time. Went on a nice hike yesterday morning in the local mountains.
Issy, I heard that you like Santa Fe. Next time you go, let me know. I think you'd get along with my cousin & their friends.

I haven't been able to check the website since last week. (I had to move AGAIN because the owner of the condo I rent sold the unit. ugh.) For your stats, I check your progress every day, except when I'm moving I guess. Just like Jill Franklin, I'm enjoying the high temps with the ultra-high humidity (I heard it was 80% Saturday night.) I don't have the benefit of enjoying it as a pregnant woman though. :-) Judah, I am so amazed, but not surprised, at how many friends you have out in the world. I hope that the love, prayers, and support we all provide are making your journey even a little bit easier. From what I read, you and I have about the same eating habits. Go sugar!!! The only difference is that I need coffee in the morning. One more thing: Now that I am a mid-west girl, I'm curious about your thoughts on us looking "bovine." You haven't shared that with me yet. I'll need to start being extra careful...

Great seeing you and your mom on Saturday, even if only for a short time. Sorry I was at a loss for words when you wanted me to keep talking - it's a rare phenomenon when I can't think of anything to say. Besides, usually people are telling to shut up, not keep talking! In any case, all things considered, you look great and can't wait til I can come see you again (hopefully next time I won't get the cane!).

Not much is new here. We were supposed to move this week to our new apartment, but our seller turned out to be a jerk. We will most likely have to wait until the end of August. Oh well.
