Sept 1, 2005

New month, new hopes.

Judah had a good night. Five AM view out of Judah's window, darkness sprinkled with sequins of light. Yellow white light orbs moving continuously, as each passes out of my view another moves in to take its place. Nurse Cindy, kept him comfortable all night. His blood work is okay, and the rest of his labs have not come in yet. He still requires a high level of oxygen, which is the main focus of concern right now.

His morning bathing is complete now, Judah is washed, he now sports a mustache, the goatee is giving way to more of a full beard, only the stuff on top of his head is slow to sprout. I've been taking a small survey, most of the women like the look, and the guys think Judah would approve!

September is here, signifying a new school year, in a few days the Hebrew month of Elul begins announcing and preparing us for the High Holy Days. I dreamt that Judah sat up in his bed and talked to me, I hope it's a harbinger of things to come.

Boker Tov, Good Morning every one.

Dr. White, honey, My co uter is only ty ing the letters it likes and punctuation isn't one of them. I have to loosen it up, sort of like getting out of bed when one has an arthritic condition.
I am stuck at home today, waiting for the French door installer. Our 'ten-week job' has turned into 9+ months and if you have been waiting for it to finish so you can visit an expanded UWS classic 6, rv vu, the way now looks clear. We had or have to do everything twice - the elctricians electrified, the plumbers plumbed and found gas, the new contractor is actually at work with enough men to make a difference. We are hoping to finish before Rosh haShanah a job that should have been finished by Pesach. I am always thinking of you and praying for a return to health. It is so interesting to read about the different connections your fan club has with you. Some of the things they write about I cannot even imagine were part of a Judah-life.
When I think of you as an adult, I remember our 'literary' discussions. There is a new bildungsroman just out and we can have a good argument over this one.
Love and have an easy day today, Mrs. C.

Judah - I remember having a discussion with you years ago about summr breaks. You were upset because yours was coming to an end. I retorted shut up you've had about 10 or 12 summer breaks more than anybody else I knew. You conceded and talked about the excitement of a new semester of something. Well,,, the summer break is just about over - lets get those student loans deferred another year, gt better and start learning again.

Hi Judah
I was thinking of early memories of you and remember when you came to baby sit for Kevin and Barry when we moved into Cheviot 26 years ago. My boys were thrilled as they had never had a 'boy babysitter' before! They thought you were great!
Sending love and prayers.

Glad to hear that some of that water is being removed, and yes, the beard is looking good.

May this be the month a healthful turn-arounds, regained consciousness, with new and exciting steps in your continuing journey through sickness to health.

See you soon bro,

-- Josh

Hey Doc -

I, for one, love the look. I'd love it even more if you could open your eyes, look in the mirror and see it for yourself. Keep fighting friend.

Love to all.

Dear Martha -

Boker Tov.

I like your dream very much. So many things of a positive nature have occurred which we take as signs, that at times I am dumbfounded why Judah isn't not way along the road to full recovery.

I guess its not the journey, it is the arrival at the desired destination that counts. And Judah is going to get there.

Love, Robby

Good morning,
Yes, the ladies love the look. Now we're just waiting for a chance to flirt...again. May the new day and the new month bring new progress and good news. You have half the world pulling for you, Judah.
Love,

Dear Martha and Whites,

All realities start with a dream. Keep dreaming and we will keep praying.

Judah,

For those who haven't seen your new look, let me give an image. Think Wyatt Earp meets Billy Bob Thorton (at least it was last week). So let's welcome September with new beginnings and wellness on the horizon.

Judah...the general consensus is that you've been gone too long. It's time to wake up, have a cup of coffee (some of us look forward to that first cup of coffee more than others) and get out of the hospital!!!

We hope that September bring these and many other wonderful things for you and your family.

All our love, Lisa and Gary Lainer

You know Judah, over the years I have heard rumors about how after you finished your medical residency you would then go to business school and/or then rabbinic school. I have always been looking forward to seeing which new career path you chose and how long you could actually be the quintessential career student. So, get up and get going. I am anxious to see what comes next (and we may even start placing bets!) - Deb
