Dear Dr.White, honey, Martha, Alissa, Benji, and Abe
I have a few minutes before Ihave to light -all my clocks say a different time, so I am going w/ the one that says 7:05 - I hope that this Shabbat will bring to all of you, a feeling of peace, of serenity, of knowing that all of you did everything you could to face up to this relentless disease. We all thought it was going to be a slam dunk. Fooled everyone. Be proud of yourselves. Love to all of you and, can I actually write this? Shabbat Shalom. Love, marthaC

Dearest Judah,
We have had outstanding discussions about what you would do when you grew up....we talked about going into business together. You being CEO of a dynamic biotech company. I was excited to be considered part of the company.
And then came all your many ideas and inventions that we were goint to pattent. I hope Cindy made a list of these!!
You did get diverted at times by considering the Rabbinate and an MBA. How about becoming a photographer?
You are definitely part of our lives...you have no idea how many lives you touched while being part of our clinical research team at UCLA.
You contributed so much with your humor, creativity and wisdom.
I have no words for how devastated and empty I feel right now at the thought of not being part of your "grown up life"! However, I am very grateful and blessed to have you in my life and to have worked with you and to have known you as my special friend's son, my colleague, my children's and family friend. We got to know the other "faces" we carry in different settings. We talked about the blind man and the elephant. I think we got to know each other as the complete "elephant".
You and your family are an inspiration to all of us.
You are forever in my heart.
I love you, Suzanne

My prayers are with you all and with Judah- I love you all so much. Your shabat dinners and passovers almost every year have and will always be in my heart. Judah has given me inspiration and newfound respect for my Jewish heritage and the importance the culture for which i was raised to be instilled in my daughter's being.
I cannot express the deep and endless spirit your family has blessed me with.
i love you so, Darci

Dear Martha, Iss, Benj, Abe, and Judah,

I spoke with Naomi and with Ruth this evening, and our hearts, though breaking, are full of love for you and admiration of your valiant fight.

The warm memories and affection expressed in these hundreds of comments represent Judah's immortal zechus, which the White family has generously shared with all of us who've read or heard of this blog.

You have done absolutely everything a patient and his family could do in such trying circumstances, and deserve nothing but peace with whatever time and fate bring forth.

Dear Cousins,

Words are difficult to share at this sad time but I want you to know that my heart is overflowing with love for all of you. I am so grateful for the brief time I was able to spend with Judah last year. What a gentle, loving, and brave soul he is!

Jeff, Fred, and Elliott join me in sending love across the miles. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Diane

Dear Judah, and the incredibly devoted, and lovely family and friends who surround you at this hour,

May you always feel the love, warmth, and care of this powerful support system.

Judah, you have taught us so many of life's lessons through this process. My hope is that on some conscious level, you have come to peace with how hard you have fought, and can rest now into what may lie ahead...a peaceful, and pain free journey, touched by those who love, and care about you.
My heart goes out to all of you beyond words,
Coco
