Judah's Heart, Lungs, and a Really Bad Joke

Last night Mom took the swing shift. I spoke to her this morning. She tells me that Judah slept a couple of hours through the night, albeit fitfully. For those who are wondering how Mom slept, she says that she could sleep comfortably on a picket fence. I spent the night with the dog at the house. When Mom is away, Pixie will not sleep in her bed. She sat up all evening by the door, like Argus, waiting for Mom to return. This morning, I found her on the sofas which can be back-breakers to sleep on.
Judah had an EKG yesterday. Dr. Foreman says that his heart and other organs look strong. Apparently, everything is going well except for Judah's lungs. The doctors seem unimpressed with Judah's lack of sleep.
Nurse joke-of-the-day: Why do nurses always carry red pens? They often have to draw blood.
What are you, an audience or an oil painting?

Hey Judah,
Just read about your sleepless nights. It's daytime in Israel when you're awake at night there and if we had a videophone I could keep you company as alertly as you apparently are during those hours. Meanwhile, until we get that hooked up, I hope you get some rest.

Lots of love to you and all those surrounding you there. Shabbat shalom from Jerusalem.

Sharon A.

I know.. Enjoy the veal you'll be here all week....

Seriously, good to the hear the rest of the organs are doing well. If only for some sleep and open lungs we can celebrate. Thanks for keeping us all updated and although I do enjoy the sleep deprived writing - Take care of yourself and get some rest.

Benji - I feel for you. I have seen Judah's stubbornness - but this sounds like stubborn to the enth power. Hang in there, know that you are doing everything you can. And know that everyone admires you and your strength. Love, Tamar

Benji- Thanks for sharing with the community what is happening for you, Judah, and the rest of the family. Here's hoping for a restful Shabbot for all of you, and some lung healing for Judah. I'm moved by your words and support of your brother. Hang in there. Love, Ilene.

Dr. White, honey,

This evening, as a treat, the Doctor and I are going to have dinner at Abigail's. That is, the daughter, not the restaurant. I don't have to make a meal and it is making me antsy, as if I have left a million things undone. You know the dream where you are back in college and taking a final in a course you never went to . . . that's how I feel. Ah, I miss the community of Los Angeles where I could count on at least a meal out every month or so. Don't go blabbing that to the book reading group because they think I don't miss a thing about LA!!

The progress in the apartment is that the electricians were here today and I know that because of all the holes in the walls and ceilings. Of course one set of electricians already did that and covered everything up. We do everything twice.

I send my love and best wishes for a peaceful, restful, healing Shabbat for you and the Mother, the Brother, the Grandfather, and the Dog. The Alissa, I assume, will be out swinging at the beach.

Shabbat Shalom and love from Mrs. C and the Doctor

Hey hey, Judah White. Hey Benj. Hey Martha. Hey Issy. Hiya Pixaroo. I wish I had a dollar for every time I checked the blog. I think my job is going to cite me for over-use of the Internet for personal reasons. Well, gosh darn it, I just don't care. J: had a long long talk with the H.A. this a.m. Were your ears buzzing? We talked about how great it'd be to see you. Shabbat shalom.
